At Nexus we plan, provide and promote public transport for all across Tyne and Wear. Our services play a key role in the lives of people who live and work in the region.

We operate Tyne and Wear Metro and the Shields Ferry as well as supporting bus services in the area.

Our team of over 1000 employees are at the heart of delivering these public transport services and they are what make Nexus a great place to work.

While a large number of our roles are clear to see, such as Metro drivers and customer service employees we've also got a lot going on behind the scenes from maintenance to finance, train planning to security, health and safety to IT - everyone in our organisation plays a key role in delivering and improving public transport services in Tyne and Wear.

We’re committed to supporting and promoting an engaged, diverse and inclusive workplace - a safe environment where we can all be ourselves.

There’s a range of family-friendly, inclusive policies and flexible working arrangements in place to support all our employees.

Nexus is an accredited Disability Confident Employer, has achieved the Silver Award for the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme, and the Better Health at Work Maintaining Excellence Award.
