Description

At Eurostar, we're on a mission to enhance Europe's most beloved travel experience. We're looking for a talented individual to join our vibrant, interconnected, and cosmopolitan team spanning five countries. Together, as the new Eurostar Group, we are united by a singular purpose: to spark new opportunities by creating consistently exceptional experiences for our passengers.

Are you ready to be part of this remarkable journey? In the Digital Sales Systems department, we’ve made it easy and enjoyable for our customers to book our trains and hotels by delivering rich, responsive, and engaging applications across multiple devices and building highly transactional micro-services to support our architecture. Building a beautiful and effective UX supported by performant APIs is key to the success of the company’s service and our team plays a pivotal role in making this a reality.

As a Technical Product Owner for our Platform team(s), you will spearhead the strategic development and enhancement of our internal platform. This platform underpins our software development lifecycle, enabling our product teams to deliver innovative solutions with speed and efficiency. Your role is critical in ensuring that our platform not only meets the current needs of our developers but also anticipates future challenges and opportunities.

Internal use only: Grade E, travel level 3. Based in KP

We’re looking for someone to …

  • Apply an Agile Product Mindset to our Platform engineering teams to improve our software delivery velocity and system stability.
  • Strategically Plan the development of platform capabilities, prioritising features that align with our business goals and address the needs of our product development teams.
  • Manage the product backlog for our platform, clearly articulating the vision, priorities, and detailed requirements to all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Collaboration among platform engineers, product development teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring that the platform evolves in response to the needs of its users.
  • Oversee Feature Delivery, working closely with engineering teams to define, build, and deploy enhancements and new capabilities that improve developer productivity and platform reliability.
  • Ensure Security and Reliability of our platform, by defining and implementing best practices and standards that safeguard our systems and data while maintaining high availability and performance.
  • Measure and Optimise platform performance, establishing “outcomes over output” OKRs that focus on developer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the scalability of our platform services.
  • Stay Informed about the latest trends in platform engineering, advocating for the adoption of technologies and practices that can drive the company forward.

Requirements

You’ll need:

  • Experience in Product Ownership or a similar role, with a track record of managing technical products, preferably in platform engineering or infrastructure services.
  • A Strong Technical Foundation with an understanding of cloud services, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development processes.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills, capable of bridging the gap between technical teams and stakeholders, facilitating effective collaboration and decision-making.
  • Proven Ability to Prioritise and manage workloads in a dynamic environment, with an agile and adaptable approach to product management.
  • Agile/Scrum Proficiency, with certification or significant experience working in agile development environments being highly valued.
  • Adaptability, to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities or requirements.
  • A Continuous Improvement Mindset, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

Benefits

  • Travel benefits for work and play
  • A great pension
  • Exclusive discounts and perks
