Mechanical Production Operative required to learn various mechanical processes and working with large machinery used to maintain rail vehicles for a world leading Freight Operator.

The Situation:
This role will offer long term stability for suitable individuals with progression offered into Welder or Machinist positions.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Following mechanical production, and maintenance procedures.
- Adherence to Health & Safety standards
- Dismantling, overhaul and reassembly of the rail vehicles.
- Working to verbal and written instructions and sometimes working to engineering drawings
- Use of a variety of different mechanical tools and measurement instrumentation
This role is a great first step on the ladder within the rail industry which offers progression into various skills sets further down the line when you have gone through the initial training package set out for you.
This company will invest a lot of time and money into training offering welding coding accreditations and CNC machine accreditations when you have proven your attitude and aptitude is suitable for this investment.
Shift Pattern:
07:00 - 16:30 (Monday to Thursday)
Overtime available on Fridays
Rotation of shifts is one month of days and one month of nights.
Permanent nights can be considered
The Individual
- No qualifications required.
- Minimum 6 months of mechanical maintenance or production experience needed.
The Essential Criteria
- You must be within commutable distance of Stoke Depot (ideally 10 miles radius maximum)
Rate
This is a contract role paying £16.11 on an umbrella paid basis, your earnings will be paid through one of our authorized payroll companies. We can provide illustrations of after tax earnings upon request.
When you complete the 6 month assignment , you will switch over to permanent which will be a salary of £23,894 plus shift allowance, plus overtime.
If you are happy putting in extra hours and shifts, wokring nights earnings can be close £30,000 per year.
