Job Description

Experienced welder fabricator required to extend the lifespan of classic locomotives and on-track-machinery for Derby based rail business.

MIG Welder – Derby – Permanent  
£36,562 a year + shift allowance  (takes to £42k) + Overtime
Shifts include 6am to 2.30pm and 2pm to 10.30pm Monday to Friday

Situation

This opportunity provides the chance to utilise your specialist skillset to optimise maintenance turnaround time for a globally renowned provider of rolling stock maintenance.

You will join a team working on a variety of different projects ranging from general maintenance to crash damage to modification and overhauls.

The Candidate

You will have previous experience in a similar role and environment

You will ideally have MIG welding skills and be able to weld a variety of different materials including Stainless Steel, Aluminium and Steel

You will be able to weld both Butt and Fillet in a multitude of angles including Vertical and overhead

Ability to hit the ground running, and utilise your skillset within a wider team of technicians.  

Essential

  • MIG and TIG trained on a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium
  • Be able to weld different joints including fillet and butt at different angles

Desirable

  • Ideally have previous coding’s in MIG or Stick welding
