Job Description


Do you have experience in sustainability reporting or ESG data? Are you passionate about sustainability and want to help deliver an even more sustainable railway? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the role of Sustainability Analyst at our company.


As a Sustainability Analyst, you will work in the Sustainability team and support Great Britain’s rail network be even more sustainable. You will play a key role in establishing new sustainability insights for rail, ensuring efficient data collection and creating new reports and dashboards. You will also provide advice and guidance to our stakeholders on best practice sustainability reporting across a wide range of topics including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, biodiversity, circular economy and social value.


Some of the main responsibilities of the Sustainability Analyst are:

  • Collect, verify and analyse sustainability data from various sources.
  • Prepare and update sustainability reports and dashboards in line with the Sustainable Rail Blueprint.
  • Assist in developing improved tools, systems and processes for collecting rail sustainability data.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and impact of sustainability actions and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on sustainability data issues and best practices and provide them with technical support and guidance.


To be successful in this role, you will:
• Have experience and passion for sustainability, ESG data analysis, and reporting.
• Communicate effectively, adapt to change, and work well in a team.
• Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to complex information.
• Take responsibility and accountability for tasks and objectives.
• Focus on customer satisfaction and stakeholder relationships.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office apps.
