SSOW & Possession Planner (Permanent)

Job Description

As a SSOW / Possession Planner at CML, you will be responsible for the planning and creating of Safe Systems of Work plans, in accordance with the type of work required to take place and in line with Network Rails expectations.

Working from our office depot in Wigan, you will work closely with the delivery team and identify Green Zone opportunities and programme work into them.

You will be required to attend and represent the company at all possession management meetings, as well as briefing and updating the COSS, PC or IWA with SSOWP, prior to the works commencing, ensuring that it is understood.

 

Desirable Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Access Planner, converse with planning a high volume of published access such as possessions and line blockages – Essential
  • Railway knowledge / experience – Essential
  • Experience of Possession Planning including use of Possession Planning System (PPS)
  • Experience of attendance of Network Rail T-minus Planning Meetings – Essential
  • Supervisory / Management experience – Desirable
  • Knowledge of London North West (North & South) Region – Desirable
  • Good IT literacy & knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good communicator on all levels
  • Self-motivated and good team player
  • Flexible & adaptable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PTS and SSOWP competency – Essential
  • Safety critical competencies such as ES (Engineering Supervisor) and COSS (Controller of Site Safety) – Desirable
