Amaro are looking for an SMTH for our ongoing works in London and the Southeast. Shift rate is up to £370.00 per shift, or up to £65k PAYE (plus many company benefits).
The person must be from a maintenance background and have the following competencies: SMTH, Points (clamp locks and HWs), Tubular Stretcher Bars, AC Track Circuits, FS2600 Track Circuits and Frauscher axle counters. Being a COSS is beneficial. The person must also possess an up-to-date IRSE logbook and either an SMT or Maintainer & Fault Finder License.

Role-specific requirements
Responsible for:
- ensuring works activities are delivered to schedule;
- working to agreed processes and procedures and final handover to others;
- ensuring works specifications and plans are briefed to staff;
- assuring the overall safety and quality of work;
- implementing works process and ensuring the works standards are met and quality of works are adhered to;
- organising and controlling work activities of a number of teams through direct or delegated actions;
- ensuring works are completed and handed over in accordance with applicable standards;
- assuring the overall safety and quality of work, including working to agreed processes and procedures and final handover to others;
- identifying opportunities for improvements and recommending these to management;
- reporting into supervisor, or other relevant manager.
- Maintain and keep your IRSE logbook up-to-date. Ensure review actions are completed within a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure all testing and/or construction paperwork is accurate and submitted prior to any deadline and in all cases within a timely manner. This is usually at the end of your shift.
- Attend all technical meetings and all mandatory safety briefings on time.
Skills, experience and competencies
Required:
- Full UK driving license.
- Valid PTS with DCCR.
- SMTH with at least 2 years demonstrable experience.
- Holds either SMT or Maintainer & Fault Finder IRSE License
- BS1 and BS2.
- At least three years’ experience working in signalling maintenance.
- Able to lead a team/teams.
- Good knowledge of signalling equipment and how this functions.
- Able to remove and replace signalling components as part of a renewal activity.
- Capable of understanding and interpreting installation and signalling documentation / diagrams.
- Able to demonstrate how the role holder keeps up to date with and maintains sufficient technical competence.
Desirable:
- COSS certification.
