RF Radio Communications Engineer

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS / PERSON SPEC: 

-        Demonstrate a solid knowledge of working with various passive RF devices, active RF-over-fibre and transmission systems including coaxial cables and terminations, antenna feeder systems,         radiating cable and distributed systems

-        Demonstrate advanced knowledge of operating RF measurement test equipment. Autonomously able to conduct and analyse cable tests including; DTF; VSWR; and PIM.

-        Spectrum analysis, interference assessment and ICNIRP compliance test experience. 

-        Demonstrate solid knowledge of the fundamentals of Radio Frequency and its use in mobile communications - GSM-R/GSM/UMTS/TETRA/LTE and Wi-Fi. 

 

PROJECTS:

  • Projects in flight require Resource to include Mersey TCIS, Severn Tunnel, Penzance GSM-R move, Agar Grove GSM-R Move, HComm GSM-R Move  Future projects in bid- EWR GSM-R I&C, Vic Phase 5 [FTS Element]

 

Additional Information:

• 2 days off per week to be taken in line with rota/ workload requirements.

• Allocated shifts can be at any time and will include days, nights and weekends.

• Working hours exclude a minimum of 30-minutes unpaid break

• Both standard working hours and overtime rates on a day shift are paid at the standard rate of pay

• Night shifts are between the hours of 10pm and 6am and paid at standard rate of pay.

• Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday shifts will be paid at standard time plus 0.3.

• For night workers Sunday night is shift one and for day workers Monday is shift one for the purposes of calculating the consecutive shifts (rolling 7-day period);

• Weekends are from 00.01am on Saturday to midnight on Sunday
