Electrically biased maintenance engineer, required to work autonomously as a service engineer representing a Train Wash & Fuelling Systems design and manufacturer that is seeing growth in an interesting niche area of the market.
The Opportunity
Ford & Stanley Talentwise are working with a leading manufacturer and designer of Train Wash Systems, Fuelling Systems, and associated depot equipment, who successfully deliver national installation and warranty contracts to many major players within the rail industry. They offer full maintenance and installation services with a team of competent field service engineers strategically placed throughout the UK.

Role and Responsibilities
- Electrical installation
- Electrical diagnostics/fault finding
- Planned and reactive maintenance on Train Washing Systems, Fuelling Systems, and other depot-based equipment
The Candidate
The successful candidate will conduct the required technical support to ensure products and services meet customer expectations. Under the supervision of the Service Manager, they will manage the preparation and completion of work, materials, tools, parts, and day-to-day liaison with customers and keep accurate, concise records of work completed. This role requires a large amount of flexibility due to the field-based nature of this role. Despite this role requiring an electrical bias, a successful candidate must be open and willing to carry out mechanical work where required.
Essential
- Electrical engineering/maintenance background
- Competent at reading and interpreting in-depth electrical schematics/drawings.
- Experience working on hydraulics/pneumatics/pumps/motors
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical Engineering discipline
- Able to use your own initiative
Desirable
- Heavy machinery background
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience in a transport environment (HGV, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine)
