We are seeking an ambitious, focused and determined individual to control a range of Rail Infrastructure projects, ranging from small, medium and large in scale, as well as offering strategic support to Assistant Project Managers and Graduates within the team. The Project Manager will manage the strategic aspects of any applicable assignments such as Depot and Station enhancements, mainline renewals, assurance and consultancy projects, applying principles of risk management in order to mitigate the impact of identified risks.

Activities will include the full lifecycle of Projects, such as:
- Supporting through the bidding process.
- Delivering internal and external survey works.
- Managing multi-disciplinary design projects, from optioneering, through outline & detailed design, to construction.
- Management through construction to handback.
- You will work alongside a number of differing delivery partners such as in-house design & assurance teams, approval bodies, external suppliers and key Clients.
- Ensuring that the key project milestones are mapped out and achieved to meet contractual obligations. You will also keep a tight control on the costs, both internal and external, associated to the project, ensuring they are delivered within budget whilst maintaining the integrity of the output quality and commercial performance, utilizing in-house tools to report on project progress.
- The Project Manager will act on behalf of the Client to manage external sub-contractors, ensuring work is undertaken and delivered effectively and productively. They will also be responsible for managing our own internal design resources, ensuring SNC-Lavalin’s quality of work is maintained and balanced against the Client’s own requirements.
To be considered for the role, you will:
- Be a member of APM or capable of working towards MAPM qualified status.
- Have in-depth experience within the Rail industry, delivering complex infrastructure projects (5-10 years’ experience).
- Possess contract/commercial management experience, particularly related to NEC.
- Have a good understanding of Construction Health & Safety.
- Have an understanding of working within an Engineering Consulting business and Network Rail approval processes.
- Hold a valid PTS and CSCS accreditations..

The roles will primarily be based in Anglia, the South and Southeast (Greater London based).
Requirements:
- Demonstrate strong commitment to HSQE and can demonstrate strong leadership in HSQE on own projects.
- Experience of managing the implementation of systems and multi-disciplinary works including construction and entry into service.
- Be technically qualified or can demonstrate good technical background and experience.
- Experience of managing sub-contracts as a means of delivering key works.
- A track record of innovation, embracing new ways of working and use of digital tools.
- Experience of Design & Build either working in a contractor organisation within a design and construction organisation or working with a contractor and can demonstrate great ability to control these activities.
