Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Project Engineer who is looking for the opportunity to deliver a diverse load of projects from cradle to grave, working for a specialist engineering company at the forefront of transportation safety.

The successful candidate will be joining a company with a healthy pipeline of orders and a proven history of excellence and innovation. With a view to progress to Lead Engineer and potentially beyond, this is an exciting opportunity that balances responsibility with rewards.

Role and Responsibilities:

Working the full life cycle of each project, this will be a diverse and varied role. From initial conception to research and design through to trial fitting and beyond the installation to include post fitment support, the successful candidate will be able to exercise a wide variety of skill sets to get the job done.

The Candidate

This role would suit a candidate that is happy to be in an office one moment, under a train the next and finishing up their day in a client meeting. A passion for engineering is absolutely essential, along with experience of regulatory compliance.


  • HND, or higher, Engineering Qualification
  • Experience in a regulated industry (rail, aviation, maritime or defence)


  • Rail Industry and/or Rolling stock experience
  • “Hands on” experience in a former role as a fitter/technician
  • Product knowledge in pneumatics and control systems
  • CAD Experience
