Job Description

Morson is recruiting for Project Coordinators working for our Rail Client based in Manchester working on a significant number of complex, high value projects. Delivery of the new trains and infrastructure investments into operation, on time, on budget, to specification and performing as required will be critical milestones in the franchise business plan. The Network Development Project Co-ordinator will play a vital support role in the successful delivery of a suite of major projects.

You will be a key part of the Collaboration and Network Development team, providing project co-ordination support to the Head of Collaboration and Network Development and the wider team of Project professionals within the team. You will help the team design project plans and become a champion on the project management software we use. You will keep momentum going throughout the projects by ensuring that strong reporting processes are in place and recording accurate actions arising.

-          Support the development of high level integrated project plans (including Gantt Charts) for all activities required to deliver major planning and infrastructure projects. Provide feedback on progress against plans and assist with cross-functional working where appropriate. Highlight activities that have drifted, or are at risk of drifting outside of plan.

-          Standardise project reporting across the suite of projects, including use of project management software and risk reporting.

-          Organise and support reporting at project review meetings, including recording succinct minutes and accurate actions. Report on outstanding actions ahead of each subsequent meeting.

-          Develop a system for storing and organising important project related documentation as required so it is easily and quickly accessible.

-          Provide administrative support to Major Projects Directorate, including arranging internal and external meetings, accommodation booking, monitoring annual leave and status returns.

-          The role will manage project reporting to ensure an excellent standard delivering internal Executive and Board requirements and discharging business plan commitments.
