ROLE SUMMARY
The IT Support Specialist will support the IT Manager in the provision of a comprehensive and customer focused IT service within the UK Subsidiary of Rail Services. They will be the primary contact for end-user support, a subject matter expert in problem solving and query resolution for issues relating to networks, systems and hardware.
SALARY RANGE
The annual salary range for this role is between £30,000 and £38,000, depending upon experience. Please see our excellent employee benefits listed below.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for delivering a robust IT service across a broad range of systems and networks to internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver against an agreed set of objectives and KPIs aligned to the organisation’s strategy and objectives.
- Provide 1st line support for all IT related queries raised via the CAU system resolving in line with agreed timescales. Queries will include those related to GMAO and relevant networks and systems.
- Provides feedback on commonly encountered problems and misunderstandings and provides / enhances user documentation and/or training programs accordingly to reduce IT related queries.
- Manages all aspects of new starter onboarding (including provision of hardware, system access and training) as well as actioning all elements of colleague offboarding in line with the CAF IT leaver process.
- Supports the effective management and provision of LAN networks to underpin the CAF business operation.
- Support all CAF IT hardware across the various UK locations to ensure that each department &/or project team has the required equipment.
- Ensures that system and network conditions are monitored and that any service-affecting issues are promptly addressed.
- Plans and progresses assigned project actions involving changes to the infrastructure, application systems or procedures.
REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILL
- Qualified to MCSE / MCITP / CCNA standard or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience is desirable.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/ PERSONAL COMPETENCIES
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating System
- Good working knowledge of Active Directory
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server
- Good knowledge of all appropriate elements of IT hardware (including laptops, printers, etc)
- Experienced in setting up and managing LAN Networks supporting a multi-site business.
