Interim Assignment: TCIS Project Director
Rate: £650 - £700 per day
Location: Liverpool
Duration: 18 months – 2 years
Status Determination: Outside IR35 however the remit/responsibilities could be adjusted to cater for Inside IR35 if so desired.
Role Status: Exclusive to Ford & Stanley Executive Search. Candidate will benefit from Ford & Stanley Executive Search aftercare service and option of weekly or monthly pay.
We are working with a respected supplier of innovative technology solutions to the UK Rail industry to secure a hands on, project director who can transform / turnaround an underperforming project, grab it by the scruff and drive it through to on time and under budget delivery. The right candidate must have a proven and demonstrable track record of doing so and ideally within a Tech, (trackside) railway infrastructure, PIS or TC.
Total project value is circa £45m (£20m spent to date) £25m still to spend to complete partially complete project involving design, civils, cable terminations test & commission, software, hardware (antennae etc.) using a combination of suppliers, subcontractors, direct and indirect engineers and operatives
Cultural turnaround, accountability, transforming the cost control processes are day one objectives. The incumbent will be successful at transforming a siloed workforce into one that works well as a team.
The successful candidate must be capable of managing relationships with all on the payroll, in addition to being adept at successful relationships with core clients, ensuring they feel involved and ‘in the know’.
Challenges in this role include:- Managing a project which has previously proved difficult, with an over-emphasis on technical solutions causing over-engineering issues, as well as transforming a workforce which has sometimes felt stifled and lacked drive. The incumbent will need to be keen problem solver, ready for the challenge of rolling their sleeves up, and delivering a fit for purpose solution as a ‘reset’ for the project, in tight monetary parameters. Our client is open to exploring an incentive for successful under-budget delivery of the project.
Location: Liverpool with a full time presence expected. Reasonable business expenses covered.
