Job Description

A Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) Civils is required to join a major rail and engineering contractor working in Northern Ireland. As the CRE Civils, you will be an integral part of the team, ensuring the successful and compliant delivery of projects through implementation of correct technical standards. Your responsibilities will include supervision, inspection and monitoring of works to ensure all resources are utilised efficiently and employees receive appropriate training to allow them to competently carry out their work. You will also be responsible for management of sub-contractors, undertaking site surveys and quality inspections. Reporting to the Contractors Engineering Manager, you will be contributing to the preparation of budgets, providing input into the programme and resource plan, as well as periodic reporting.  


The successful CRE Civils will have previous experience of working as a CRE on major engineering projects in a rail environment. An ideal candidate will hold a Civil Engineering degree or similar. You will have the ability to demonstrate competence in all civils activities, have a UK driving licence and be willing to work away from home.  Ideally, you will based near Glasgow, Crewe or Birmingham to have an easy access to the Client’s office if required, however this is not essential. If you wish to relocate to Northern Ireland, the Client offers a relocation package of £8,000, however relocation is not necessary. All travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the company.
