As Change and Benefits Manager you’ll lead on managing digital transformation change across the business and supply chain to ensure successful implementation of the Digital Engineering strategy, including; people side of change, understanding the impacts of required changes and embedding new ways of working. The role will work closely within the Digital Engineering team but will be required to build a strong understanding of and relationships with the wider HS2 community to ensure that the change programme brings greatest achievable benefit to the organisation.

Working collaboratively with other members of the Digital Engineering Strategy team, the role will lead on the definition and prioritisation the benefits sought through the change programme, taking ownership of the HS2 Digital Engineering benefits realisation framework and for reporting on whether these benefits have been achieved.

Communication, education and upskilling will be key to achieving desired change. To facilitate this, the role will be include responsibility for the Communications and Education Manager who leads on the Digital Engineering team’s outreach activity.

About the role:

  • Lead on the identification of changes needed to deliver greater achievable value from enhanced use of digital data and from this, lead on the development of a digital change programme.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the agreed digital change programme, supported by the Digital Engineering Strategy Manager and the Digital Engineering strategy team.
  • Manage the Communications and Education Manager to deliver communications and upskilling content through appropriate channels in support of the digital change programme.
  • Manage the Project Change Manager and working collaboratively with the Implementation Manager, to ensure that projects have clearly defined change approaches defined up front and a clear set of agreed supported activities to drive the change as the project progresses.
  • Manage the HS2 Digital Engineering Benefits Realisation Framework through monitoring, baselining and reporting on identified benefits, in conjunction with the supply chain.
  • Support the Project Change Manager and Information Managers on the readiness and impact of transitioning to new ways of working on HS2 Supply Chain.
  • Work with the Implementation Manager to ensure that business as usual is maintained during the transition and changes can be effectively integrated into the business, sequencing the changes and managing change fatigue
  • Identify and manage the change transition risks and issues that will impact on delivery of the benefits.
  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About You:

  • Stakeholder Management, with proven ability to influence change at all levels 
  • Benefits Realisation definition and management, including relevant techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of large scale complex digital transformation programmes
  • Experience developing change and benefits strategies, plans, procedures and guidance documentation
  • Experience developing and using performance measures and reporting tools to drive implementation and benefits realisation
  • Track record of delivering programme benefits through change programmes in large, complex organisations with multiple business requirements areas.
