Contract - 12 months with further extensions
A Building Surveyor is required to join a rail client on a temporary basis. You will be required to carry out inspections of operational property including station buildings, depots and other lineside buildings. You will ensure that the inspections are completed to a high standard and in accordance with the relevant industry standards. Proactively planning your day to make sure all access arrangements are in place in order to successfully carry out the inspections, you will be reliable and conduct yourself in a courteous manger on site. The role will also involve providing estimates of costs for replacement buildings, advising on development appraisals, negotiating dilapidations, advising on cost and specification proposals.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in carrying out inspections on rail buildings, and will be experienced in using OPAS / Atrium software, however this is not essential. You must have excellent knowledge of the technical aspects of building surveying including understanding of materials and defects. Educated to a degree or HNC level in Building Surveying or a similar discipline, the ideal candidate will be highly computer literate as report writing will be a major part of your role.
