This is a newly created role to complement our growing BIM Team here in the UK.
The purpose of the role is to support the UK BIM Manager with BIM strategy and CDE deployment in both R&D and commercial projects. The role-holder will be expected to undertake information coordination on multiple projects, including CDE management and participate in the development of company-wide standards in information exchange and management with counterparts in other Group companies. A thorough understanding of ProjectWise is essential and exposure to large scale construction projects is preferred.
Key accountabilities
- Creation of Exchange Information Requirements (EIRs), clarifying the customer’s preferred systems, processes and required outputs from their supply chain.
- Further develop SharePoint CDE system currently utilised by RSUK for small projects.
- Setting up new project standards and developing ‘how to’ guides for new projects.
- Training internal and external project team members on project specific PW system and protocols.
- Exchange information with wider RSRG BIM team across Europe to gain insights into current CDE trends.
- Research available CDE systems and find the best one on the market for particular projects (/customers).
- Perform day to day administration tasks regarding the CDE.
- Collaborate with external and internal team members to ensure the CDE is utilised in the most efficient manner, offering best practice advice where possible.
- Manage incoming electronic information ensuring compliance with protocols and standards.
- Have a good understanding of various stages of construction projects from Concept Design to Construction.
- Being the point of contact for clients, consultants and internal management for project information auditing and sourcing.
- Implementing thorough QA/QC procedure on all information being transmitted and liaising with internal and external teams to follow up on responses.

Qualifications and experience required
- Knowledge of the CDE concept and its purpose (ISO19650 & PAS1192) is essential.
- Preferably good working knowledge of ProjectWise, Aconex, Asite, SharePoint.
- Degree level qualification in Engineering or Technical Design (or similar relevant discipline)
- Experienced with one or more (design and or manufacture/construction) area, e.g.:
- Railway/road linear infrastructure
- Buildings
- Railway components, plant or equipment
- Tunnels/bridges
- Ideal and beneficial to have experience of:
- Also advantageous to have experience of Bentley Microstation, Openrail Designer, Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D and Navisworks Manage
