We are now recruiting for an Assistant Fleet Engineer to support the maintenance and management of the tram fleet, ensuring Trams operate safely, reliably and efficiently.

You will provide assistance to the Fleet Engineers in their day-to-day tasks and projects.

As our Assistant Fleet Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Fleet Maintenance – Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance schedules for the tram fleet.
  • Technical Support – Provide technical support for fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of tram systems and projects, collaborating with engineering teams.
  • Documentation – Support the fleet engineers and other members of the Rolling Stock team in ensuring the quality and completeness of maintenance records, repairs and inspections.
  • Compliance – Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant H&S regulations, OEM requirements and industry standards.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities for improving fleet performance and maintenance processes.
  • Training – Assist in the training and development of maintenance staff, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:

  • Experience in a rolling stock or in a mechanical or electrical biased maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of rolling stock systems and components.
  • Technical Report Writing.
  • Time served Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Further education qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

 It would be great if you had:

  • Working with maintenance management systems and documentation.
  • Knowledge and use of diagnostic tools and software.
